Too ghoul for school

When I was at Cottey College, we had a ghost named Vera. Vera was a Cottey student in the early 1900s. She died in a tragic taffy-pulling mishap and today haunts the campus.

A tragic taffy-pulling mishap?

Not necessarily a taffy pulling accident - I think the story goes that she was more vaguely making candy in a chafing dish. As you may know, chafing dishes have an open flame underneath for heat, and, supposedly, her clothing caught on fire while she was making candy. She suffered severe burns and died later as a result.
